In my opinion, the main objective of this International Business Concentration option was to learn various cultural, political, economic, and linguistic aspects in the global environments. As a business student in Wilfrid Laurier University, it is critical to think on a global scale as the increase in globalization has created a need for us to possess specialized knowledge and skills required in the current business trends. Also, with my international background, I believe that it would be beneficial for me to explore the business world globally through the international study program. Throughout the semester, I found every class to be informative and motivating, and thus, have definitely helped me develop a global mindset. In addition to the passion that I have for marketing, my knowledge in this area has been significantly expanded as a result of including a global approach to the marketing issues in class. This program has helped me develop my confidence and communication skills through team building and group work. Learning to work with different people in the class is definitely a very important quality for business students like us. Most importantly, I have definitely gained many significant insights during the two weeks trip to Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. This has allowed us students to experience different cultures and business environments that I believe will be beneficial for our future application. After half month visiting in Asia with all the classmates, I have a clearer vision of how different company works in different cultural settings.
