The future was always been something that weighs heavily on my mind. With family being one of the most important values to me, I often think about a career and education that can provide well for my future family. As a young boy I discovered my potential in engineering through wonderful teachers and leaders, and began investing my time in that field of study. The more I learned, the more civil engineering specifically appealed to me. Through the help of my high school engineering teacher, I began acquiring important contacts and touring engineering firms around town. I plan to use the religious classes, ward callings and FHE groups to learn from them and do my part to follow Heavenly Father’s plan for me and lift up those who I will interact with on campus. Likewise, the environment on campus of following Church standards will help me to focus on my goals and spiritual progress. I plan to add to this welcome and uplifting environment through setting a good example to my peers and taking whatever leadership opportunities present themselves. Additionally, my hope is that the environment of BYU and it’s focus on marriage will help me to find my eternal companion and take her to the temple. Additionally, I plan to use my time at BYU to visit my extended family in Utah and strengthen my relationships with them. My father and grandfather both attended BYU and it is my hope to continue the family tradition of making BYU an important part of our family. Going to BYU itself has been my goal since I learned about our family tradition so I plan to make the most of my experience and resources at BYU to prepare for the future, to become a better person and reach out to those that need my
