Personal Statement: 3D Senior Piping Designer Jobs

The job that I am interested in is a 3D Senior Piping Designer Position. I am interested in it because I really enjoy drawing 3D models. I have been doing piping models for different companies for the past 7 years. It also includes piping design, being a piping designer there is a lot of thought that goes into putting things together. I enjoy that because it makes you think and you can be creative. Some of the skills the employer is looking for is for a person that can prepare piping drawings and designs with little involvement from the engineer. They are also looking for a person who has 10-15 years of piping experience. I have been doing piping design now since 2005. They are also looking for a person who has extensive Auto Cad experience.

I am very technically sound. I have done many piping drawings and piping layouts. I have an extensive Auto Cad and piping background. I also am able and comfortable to be in the field when needed. I am also a autocratic leader (p.g.332). I would say that because on major jobs I like to make all the major decisions. I think I have rubbed people in the past the wrong way being like this but I want to make sure things are done right and I can be very persistent to get the job done or you might want to say very demanding when things are on the line. I also have been involved with hiring people. One major asset that I can bring is that I have good skills at picking qualified team members (p.g. 361). I would say that I am good at this because my technical back ground leads to finding good new team members because I know exactly who will work and who won’t work. I have a very good feel for the group I am in so that helps with finding new team

That is very crucial in process design because engineers are always changing their mind in how to do something. Sometimes you may redesign a piping line 7 times in two weeks. Another thing you may find is that a job may start out small and will turn into a huge job over night. One other skill that is crucial is that a person needs to be able to think on their own, be able to solve problems and make sound decisions. Engineers only have so much time during the day to get there things done so they don’t have very much time to answer questions. It’s important that a candidate be able to think out of the box and complete their tasks with minimal supervision.

Myers-Briggs Personality Profile Strengths A big strength from my Myers-Briggs personality profile is that I am able to focus on details and think very logically. This relates to being a piping designer because you have to really focus on what you’re doing and able to think logically on where things are going to work and not work and be considerate of maintenance areas for new equipment. One other thing that helps me with being the piping designer is that I just focus on the task at hand and not focus on future work. I think this helps because all you can control what you’re doing today, you can’t sit and worry about how I am going to get future work done with the unrealistic deadlines that come
