If I, Kelli Evans, were to pick a profession in the health field, I would choose to be a physical education teacher. Why? Because being a physical education teacher would be a fulfilling experience because of all the accomplishments there are to be made especially in this day in age. Experiences such as being in sports in high school and my love for exercise has led me to consider this career. Influences such as my mom who suggested doing something in the physical education/medicine field has also led me to this career. My future aspirations include being an elementary physical education teacher. I would put motivation into students to make them realize that physical activity is a fun thing to do and is also an important part of staying healthy. …show more content…

Specific competencies that are expected for me to demonstrate after completion of my program is the demonstration of skill and fitness, game performance, and motor competencies. If I complete those requirements and pass the required courses for my major, I can then go on to be certified as a physical education teacher. After becoming certified I will have to look for job listings in either ads in papers or websites that would list available positions that are open for physical education teachers. Currently the job prospects for my field in physical education are rising because of the awareness of the importance of physical education that is being brought up. In other regions in the United States the demand might not be quite as high because there are no standards that must be met in a lot of states when it comes to physical …show more content…

After finding places to submit an application to I have to make sure that I include proof that I completed my bachelor’s degree in physical education, my state licensure, proof of a completed internship, and transcripts along with the application.
