Growing up, I was told that having a college education is essential as it enables opens. Our elders instilled the notion that without such education, one is not worth in the society. Nevertheless, I developed a curiosity that made me want to work hard in my studies so that I would be able to join college and further my studies. My interests lay mostly in the field of psychology and sociology. I, therefore, knew that with enough effort I would be able to join college and get one step closer to achieving my dreams.
I was brought up in a family of four, where am the youngest, preceded by two boys and one girl. All my siblings were bright enough to secure themselves slots in the top and affluent colleges around. Our parents, on the other hand, really value education and as such ensure they do the best in their power to help us achieve our dreams.
Looking at my siblings’ lives while in college, I must say, my curiosity to join college developed further. Other than my eldest brother, my other siblings were not party people. But their lives seemed full of freedom. They would visit friends whenever they wished without the fear of curfew. I admired how they were in charge of their schedules. I always had an interest in knowing how the minds of people work and what drives them to do what they do. Therefore, I thought that joining college will help expound my knowledge in these two areas. With the knowledge in these two disciplines, I figured out that could quench my thirst for knowledge and also be able to help people. I believe that in college people are exposed to various experiences, both simulations and real life that would sharpen their abilities and enable them to gain the required knowledge for their field of
