Nursing is a very demanding, challenging, and competitive career which requires a strong amount of determination and focus. It is a career where an individual’s continuously learning and it brings out new challenges in the daily life. Growing up I was very passionate about helping other people, and nursing is a profession where they support people in need. My caring personality has dragged my attention towards it even further. I believe that being a nurse will develop me as a person with the challenges that will face me. Hence, I would like to study nursing in university to pursue my career. Three years ago I found out that my grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, immediately I flew to Nepal to be beside her as she went through the chemotherapy treatment. Sitting beside her I was not able to do anything which made me feel completely helpless and powerless, however, the care nurses provided to my grandmother increased my interest in the profession. I eyewitness the importance of how much of how much compassion one can help someone in critical conditions. I was able to volunteer while taking this course where I interacted with the children it enables to develop my communication skills when engaging with the children professional setting. Also, my research skills started to evolve and progressed I started to contribute more in a group work where my verbal communication was improved. Moreover, the BTEC science practical lesson helped me to follow the instruction and procedures correctly and safely.
