Nursing is a very demanding, challenging, and competitive career which requires a strong amount of determination and focus. It is a career where an individual’s continuously learning and it brings out new challenges in the daily life. Growing up I was very passionate about helping other people, and nursing is a profession where they support people in need. My caring personality has dragged my attention towards it even further. I believe that being a nurse will develop me as a person with the challenges that will face me. Hence, I would like to study nursing in university to pursue my career. Three years ago I found out that my grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, immediately I flew to Nepal to be beside her as she went through the chemotherapy treatment. Sitting beside her I was not able to do anything which made me feel completely helpless and powerless, however, the care nurses provided to my grandmother increased my interest in the profession. I eyewitness the importance of how much of how much compassion one can help someone in critical conditions. Witnessing how the nurses were committed to their work it motivated me to pursue nursing as my profession as I too would like to help other people. The …show more content…

I was able to volunteer while taking this course where I interacted with the children it enables to develop my communication skills when engaging with the children professional setting. Also, my research skills started to evolve and progressed I started to contribute more in a group work where my verbal communication was improved. Moreover, the BTEC science practical lesson helped me to follow the instruction and procedures correctly and safely.
