Eventually, the day will come when I will be granted the privilege to lead a school. As a leader of an educational organization will it be more important for me to change the organization itself or the heart of the people involved within the organization? I endeavor to be the type of principal who strives to change the organization by directly impacting and influencing the heart of the people. Since people are the true essence of any school, I believe that my most important role as a principal is to change the heart and minds of the people that are affiliated with my designated school by providing encouragement, support, and opportunities to learn, practice and reflect. It is important for me to sponsor, and participate in activities that will allow my team and I to spend time with each other. I will identify, encourage and celebrate others on my team with strong interpersonal skills. I recognize that I am not the most social person. I do not necessarily enjoy hosting and throwing parties. Being around a lot of people all of the time, is really not my preference. Nevertheless, I realize that some people enjoy and are really quite gifted in their abilities to gather people and have fun. As a leader, I know that I am going to have to find people who can support me in my areas of weakness by inviting and allowing them to shine in their areas of strength. Recognizing my weaknesses and identifying the strengths of others will go a long way to build team cohesion. Celebrating others on my team with talent and giving them opportunities to excel is a strategy that I will use to support the school community. As well as identifying the talents and strengths of my team, I think it is equally important to help my staff to overcome their own individual weaknesses. I realize that no one is perfect and it will be important for me to hire people who will want to push themselves towards personal,emotional, and professional
