I am a mature student currently studying Access to Humanities course at Glasgow Kelvin College. My ambition is to become a primary school teacher. The main reason I want to be a teacher is to have a direct impact on the lives of children. I believe when you are teaching children you are delivering knowledge and skills to create a better future for them. I feel my main responsibilities will be to help them develop emotionally, socially and intellectually. In addition, I also have the belief that through a teacher taking the time to build and encourage children's confidence, self- belief and self- esteem they will be enabled to achieve their full potential. The last eight years I have dedicated myself to my own business in creative cakes, which I set up on my own, My business grow and grow over the years and it wasn't only my job and income, it was my passion witch I believe made my business successful. When I commit myself to something I make sure I succeed to the highest standard. Baking and designing cakes has gave me the experience of dealing in set times, deadlines and working to the highest stress levels with been really busy and having so many orders and been too nice to say no am fully booked, which has gave me good management skills and the ability to work to deadlines these are vital qualities I will bring to my studies and future profession, I understand the workload will be intense but I am very fortunate to have a network of family members and great friends to help support with the logistics of childcare and essential study time. Getting back into education has been a rewarding experience for me and for my family. I feel I am setting an example for my daughters but most importantly allowing myself to reach the potential I know I have.
