I want to study sound engineering as Sound technology is always evolving and this has interested me. I see this course as being integral to my future and will elevate and give me the necessary knowledge and tools required to help me achieve my goals.
From an early age, music has been a prominent part of my life. As I got older I became more inquisitive about how music was created, from the recording process, the science and technology involved. My fascination with music technology grew so did my ambition. I wanted to create and produce my own music. I decided to set up my own recording and production studio in my house. In the studio, I used professional recording equipment which included an audio interface, midi keyboard, production software and a condenser microphone. I taught myself sound design, production and vocal recording using different online tutorials and short courses. I learnt a lot and gained more experience using my home studio. In some occasions, I assisted in setting up sound systems, the acoustics and lighting. This made me appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes. I learnt a lot from this and it enhanced my trouble shooting skills as a lot could go wrong with sound systems. Through this experience I learnt how to work independently and manage my time wisely, as a DJ time keeping is essential. Outside of this to broaden my knowledge I enjoy attending exhibitions, I recently attended the BPM/PRO at the NEC in Birmingham where I got to meet the experts in the music industry, label managers and manufacturers behind some of the technology used in the industry. Engaging with them helped me expand my knowledge; it was an eye opener getting in depth knowledge of products and what it takes to succeed in the
