Even before studying the subject, I always had an interest in the law and enjoyed watching it being applied in the correct way. Before I was even old enough to study law as a subject, I attended mock trials as an extracurricular subject where we read through legal cases and each had a different legal role to play, which took me down the route of choosing Law for a GCSE.
Since studying the subject, I became so passionate about it that I wanted to apply what I was learning in a practical way. Therefore, I joined the Staffordshire Police Cadets – this provided me with so many opportunities to further my knowledge about the law and to witness the way that it is applied first hand.
Following work experience at Staffordshire Police Headquarters, I knew that this was the career path I wanted to go down; I knew that I wanted a job within the law. One of the ways that I have been applying the law is through becoming a Female Genital Mutilation Ambassador within my cadet force and promoting the law to make sure that everybody is aware of it. This lead me to being nominated for a number of awards, one of these included me being invited to the House of Lords for the awards ceremony.
