Hard work, punctuality, and structure are all values of German culture. Indeed, being over half German and participating in all traditions that may entail, growing up on those values has sculpted me into who I am today: a young natural leader with a unique educational background and clear vision of the future. However, when I was younger, I had little knowledge that my family would play such a great role in my educational and career goals in business. At home, my mother shared her love of oil painting and hiking with friends and family, while my father practiced new hobbies, such as woodshop and beer-making. I went to the same classes daily, saw the same people, and was often taught by the same methods I grew tired of. In my experience, high school lacked the one element I needed to truly be successful: challenge. I craved a faster-paced education that I could cater towards my specific goals, and my grades began to show my struggle in the high school environment. “Wer rastet, der rostet” is a popular German saying my grandmother wrote to me that triggered me to take action on my academic situation my sophomore year. The community at the University of Washington is committed to discovery and strives to make a difference in the local community, the nation, and the world. If I were accepted as a student at the University of Washington, I would love to contribute to the community by being an active learner and getting involved in clubs and organizations. I also wish to not only honor my family, but to make a positive impact on the Boeing Company, the state I was born and raised in, and much more. The Foster School of Business is also dedicated to excellence and aims to be the best public business school in the United States. Additionally, the Foster School of Business’ marketing program has been rated as the best in Washington State by multiple publications. If given the opportunity to continue my education at the Foster School of Business, I would
