Personal Statement For the past few years, I have been interested to inspire, inform, motivate, and aid the public by reporting and conversing with others. I anticipate communicating and influencing others through my work. I plan to achieve this through researching, investigating and reporting. As a future journalist, I not only want to make a difference, but be a difference. By sharing my personality and characteristics throughout my work. I will use the knowledge taught and experiences learned to do what I aspire by writing the most accurate, interesting and factual stories, documentaries, news and blogs. I embrace my community. My surroundings have motivated me as well as taught me to be a leader and dream big. My community and city is a part of what inspired me to attend graduate school. I appreciate the experiences I’ve encountered that have helped me grow from my community. I`ve learned from my neighborhood what responsibility is. I`ve learned how important outreach within the community is and how it helps motivate those without a role model or resources. I know that everyone has a story. The University itself was small; therefore, the programs and organizations available on campus for communication majors were limited. However, I participated and appreciate the Quincy University Media organization (QUMEDIA). During this program my writing improved and I learned how to write in distinctive styles such a print, web, and blog format. I also improved in research due to this organization. Following these improvements, I earned the 2016 Most Improved Writer award by the QUMEDIA organization. My first live broadcast was on Quincy University TV (QUTV), which is a part of QUMEDIA, titled Girl Talk. Girl Talk featured host Allison Malone and myself as co-host. Our target audience were college students. We simply discussed different situations college students endure. Ranging from love life, being away from home, freshman year tips, campus activates, and general information useful for Quincy University students.
