My passion to help others and correct injustices in the world is what led me to choose my major. While making decisions I logically reason out what is best and make sure what I am doing is the correct thing to do. When I was a child, adults would constantly tell me I would grow up to be a lawyer one day, I had no idea why they said this until now. I think now it was because when I younger when I saw something wrong, I had the tenacity to fix it no matter what. I also think it was because I’ve always been interested in other people; I like to know what they think, how they act, and what interests them. I want to practice as a paralegal to gain experience in the legal field and establish relationships with attorneys and legal officials. While working as a paralegal I desire to apply for Law School so I can become an Attorney. I think that entering law school while working, as a paralegal will help me better understand my classes and benefit me in the process of schooling. Of course when I graduate from Law School I want to pass my Bar Exam and become an attorney. My main focus when becoming an Attorney would be Family Law while doing pro-Bono cases for those who cannot afford legal services or working as an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union. The reason why I want to work in Family Law is that I am the child of divorced parents and I believe that from my experience I could bring that perspective in to help my clients. I also would like to do pro-Bono cases to help those that can’t afford it. When my parent’s divorce was final they were both drained of money from legal fees and had to declare bankruptcy. By doing pro-Bono work I could save other families from following that path. If that path does not work for me, I would like to work for the American Civil Liberties Union. I would love to work for the ACLU because they fight for the rights and civil liberties of all Americans. Issues involving LGBT rights, immigration, and poverty are dear to my heart and
