My goal within the Business Administration field is to be in the top levels of management of a major retailer, and then move forward to owning my own business. With experience in a major administration position, I plan to use the knowledge gained and systems I develop to run my retailer in 10 years. As my Rational temperament is described by the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, “Masterminds usually rise to positions of responsibility, for they work long and hard and are dedicated in the pursuit of their goals…” (Rational Portrait of the Mastermind (INTJ), n.d.). I also am focused on efficiency which, in my opinion, is the basis for maintaining profitability in any business.

I will major in International Business because it is increasingly important to operate business on a global scale, and at Temple, I and plan to attend the Japan (TUJ) campus located in Tokyo. Many businesses in Japan recruit from Temple University Japan because native English speakers are required to learn at least business level Japanese (and native Japanese speakers are required to be fluent in English as all classes are taught in English). There are courses available, such as Global Marketing and Marketing and the Entrepreneurial Mind (Daniel Goldberg Lecturer in Business, 2015), that will allow me to continue to focus on business on a global scale without having the ability to major in International Business. Obtaining a degree at Penn State Abington requires an internship which could possibly lead to potential job opportunities upon graduation. There are many career opportunities in Business and I am most interested in, as mentioned, the top levels of management but also of business consulting. McKinsey & Company, The Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Deloitte, and Booz & Co. are the top 5 business consulting firms according to careers-in-business.com (Top Ten Firms in Management Consulting, 2009).
There are various magazines available that will allow me to stay up-to-date about news in the business field such as CEO Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine which have minimal subscription fees. Also, many business associations exist to provide support.
