There are so many amazing aspects to LSP that align with my vision for what I want from my college experience, from the small focused group collaboration, to the global experience, and the professional development. However, I think the most impressive and attractive aspect of LSP are the Leeds Scholar students that I will have the opportunity to work and grow with. It was the LSP community that resonated with me during my research on the program and the unique stories and voices of the LSP students is what really gave me a sense that this was a community I would flourish in. Learning how to problem solve and tackle complex challenges while contributing to my community is an essential part of my identity and I hope to further develop these skills. I think the academic rigor and the LSP curriculum will help me develop incredibly valuable skills that will benefit me inside the classroom and as I pursue my career. I have been actively involved in service programs and have had some amazing experiences working with groups Camden, NJ and in Washington DC. What I saw firsthand in the people I encountered was a real spirit in how they worked to overcome their challenges. In some of the most horrible conditions, I witnessed joy, hope and dignity. In each of the programs I tried to apply problem solving and critical thinking skills to address the needs of the organization. I think these unique experiences and values have helped me grow as an individual and will allow me to lend a unique and valuable
