“It’s okay to do what you want to do until it’s time to start doing what you were meant to do” - Unknown. I plan to make a name for myself in whichever career field I choose. I expect to climb to the top and be the best I can in whatever i do. I’m going to go after my dream job, and my goal is absolute excellence. I plan to work my way to receiving very good pay over the years at whatever job I choose and make sure I’m set for my life and retirement. As long as I can have all my bills paid for, and my family never has to go without then that is all that matters. Two jobs that I feel would suit me well are being a Master Electrician, or a Narcotics officer. One of the obvious requirements is having a two or four year degree in criminology or anything related to police science. According to Criminal Justice Degree Schools, you must have been employed by law enforcement for at least 4 years before being considered to become a narcotic officer, so around the age of 22 to 23 is the minimum age to become a narcotic officer; due to the job and schooling requirement. In addition to these requirements you must be able to pass a background check, polygraph, and drug test. Finally you have to take a physical and psychological exam. This is to prove that you have what it takes to be a police officer, in one of the most hostile departments. As a narcotic officer or “dope cop” be prepared to get really involved with drugs. That is a narcotic officers daily routine every day.(Criminal Justice Degree Schools) You will be expected to uphold the law and closely watch high priority targets, who may possibly the center of drug trafficking. You have the options of what kind of magnitude you want to work in. Some people prefer the quietness of a DEA job were they only infiltrate on high priority target, while others choose to work with a slower stakeout paced job like working Miami Vice. Either way you are working toward a common goal and that is the halt of drug production and distribution; each and every day you help reduce the world’s drug distribution in some way.
