Talents run in all shapes and sizes, and my greatest talent is one that is certainly atypical. While some have talents such as great intelligence or exceptional athletic ability, my talent is merely a strong work ethic. Now one may overlook this as evading the question and think I must have picked this talent for a reason such as not having any other talent to speak of, but this is undoubtedly not the case. I have worked my way up from being an average athlete, overshadowed by the skill of my peers around me, to being one of the most accoladed athletes on both my wrestling team and my football team. During my freshman year, I was not even able to crack the offensive or defensive line-up However, after two years of working out to better myself, I was able to not only surpass my peers but emerge as a top tier athlete in my district, conference and region. As a Junior, I was awarded first team all-conference, all-district, and all-regional honors as a running back along with a first team all-district and second team all-conference honors as a linebacker. I have always been a gifted student, but it has been the gift of determination that has proven to keep me afloat with the rest of my academic adversaries. It has also shown in my ACT examinations. My first attempt was a wake up call because I have always been in the top tier of my class, and the results did not resemble a score that would be considered “top tier.” I realized if I was going to get an acceptable score, I was going to have to study and review repeatedly. After many studious weekends-- I was booked with class work during the weekdays-- full of countless hours of test prep, I have been able to improve a total of five points or twenty total subject points.
