A higher education is needed to achieve my career goals. My aspirations is to obtain my bachelor’s degree in chemistry to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor as well as establishing a non-profit organization to help people in developing countries where medical aid is needed. Being able to have a higher education especially a liberal arts education is very important toward helping me achieve my long term goals. Spelman College will not only prepare me mentally and physically to become a physician but also allow me to develop a rational approach to the real world. While in college, I plan to major in chemistry with a pre-med track and minor in french. During my senior year of college I plan to take the MCAT to get into med school. After graduating from Spelman I plan to go to med school at either Georgetown, John Hopkins, Meharry or Howard University. I also plan to somehow attend Grad school to get my degree in business in order to pursue my dream of owning my own non-profit organization. For me, being a doctor and owning my own non-profit organizations means everything and so much more.
