Personal Statement: A Career As A Professional Athlete

I am always asked daily what I want to be when I grow up. My response always changes but the truth is I really want to be a professional Athlete Either NBA or NFL. I really have not made a choice on which one I would prefer but I really would be greatful for either one. At the end of the day I am really just trying to feed my family the best way I can I do not want my mom to work anymore or my sisters and brothers. I want to build a legacy such as Floyd Mayweather, I use him for example because his children nor his children's children will have to work. Floyd is really handling business and I feel I can do the same if I stay on top of it .Another reason being a professional athlete is so important because my uncles my father and my mother that is what they expect, I put in too much time into sports not to make it to the league that's why I will do anything I can to keep perfecting my craft. I am going to have to work like no one else. I am going to have to be a unique and non stop worker. A Lot of people say they want to be in the league but maybe 50% makes it to the league. I will have to really get on my grades so really good colleges can look at me . Grades really separate the good from the best, I don't want to be looked at like one of those African American boys who are athletic as hell but dumb. I will really have to improve in the classroom. I will have to spend extra time in the gym and field. The gym and field will really have to become my second home. I will have to get to the gym before practice and stay after practice even later. The little things makes the biggest difference you might not think so but I promise you they do. I will have to cut down on the parties and fun and start putting that time towards something more productive. Its called having a progressive mindset I am currently developing
