Imagine you go in for an x-ray of your hurt hand, and instead of being greeted with a person it's a robot telling you to place your hand on the table. You’re nervous about your results and instead of a nice doctor man telling you your hand is broken and you need surgery, it's a robot. Not very comforting, is it? Some people think that robots taking over healthcare could be a reality, I mean all radiologists do is press buttons, right? A robot can easily take over the job. Wrong. I believe that healthcare is too complex and requires human contact and communication. Robots do not have the ability to comfort patients, nor do they have all the skills required to perform the job of a radiologist or that of any healthcare provider. I have many family members who were or still are working as health care providers. Being there for people to help them when they are in need has always been a big passion of mine. I'm a caring and compassionate person and I get to express that working in healthcare. It is challenging work though, mentally, emotionally, and physically. The writer from Intelerad states, “One of the most significant advantages of implementing AI in radiology is that it can continuously perform repetitive and tedious tasks, allowing radiologists to focus on high level work. It further helps in measuring anatomies and lesions accurately. Implementation of AI in radiology has helped companies achieve the best care and highest levels of efficiency possible.” AI has made the job of radiologist a little easier by providing support and doing all the tedious tasks that would take a person possibly many hours to do, allowing the radiologist to focus on other, maybe more important tasks. AI, while very helpful, still needs to be looked over by a human to ensure proper work is being done. According to Intelerad, “Even though AI has helped radiologists automate procedures, it still requires human supervision. AI requires human input and review to perform tasks efficiently. According to experts, although AI has become a part of healthcare, it still needs to mature to improve desired outcomes.” Even with all the new advancements of technology and AI, there is still a need for a human because the AI simply cannot perform needed tasks alone. There are more benefits to the aid of AI in radiology, such as cutting down
