“Here, Kyle.” My teacher said, handing me my report card. I stared at it in amazement as I had accomplished the worse grades in my high school career. I had a 2.83 GPA for the first semester and I knew there was only one thing I needed to do: get better grades. To accomplish that I needed to do three things: start doing my homework more often, study for every test, and make school my top priority. Everyone experiences failure in their lifetime, but you must find ways to bounce back and succeed. To succeed, I had to start doing my homework. There would be times I wouldn’t want to complete it, but I would have to focus and deal with the inconceivable chore. I spent more time playing games than I did actually focusing on my homework. If I completed my homework, I did it before school. After many years, I finally came to the realization that I could not do well in school if I wasted my time doing extraneous things. Homework isn’t the only thing that needed to change, but also, studying. I was never taught the right ways to study, so I have always struggled with this. How do you expect to pass tests if you don’t study? You might get lucky and get that D on the math test, but when it is worth 70% of your grade, it explained the reasons why I had the extremely low grades. If you don’t and you slack off, it results in bad grades. If not changed quickly, it may result in failing classes and you will have to retake the class. It’s always good to do the best you can do and always have a positive attitude. Once you start getting negative, you’ll end up not caring and in the end, struggling to get the best grades. I have had this personal struggle many times in my life, where I started to hate school, so I slacked off and spent more time on Facebook then I did homework and studying. That, in the end, got me a 2.8 GPA and the continuous struggle to get better
