Superman! That’s what I wanted to be and with iterative years in school I realised Aerospace engineering was the path leading to my childhood dream. Curiosity to learn more and zeal towards problem solving enabled me to achieve high grades in school. As I got admission in top aerospace university of my country, I was one step closer to my dream and had first realisation that nothing is impossible if you work hard. During my years in university I actively kept adventuring with my knowledge with various projects from games in C++ to GPS guided robot. I had been designated with the post of an event organiser, coordinator and society president. To satisfy my aesthetic sense I joined Arts society of IST and later climbed the stairs of success to become the President. I believe that for a successful engineer any form of art is a basic necessity since art improves creativity and engineering is all about creativity. My special interest in journalism gave me opportunity to start a student humour magazine for my university and gave me an ability to inspire people with my work while bringing a positive change in them. I have gained confidence through presenting ideas at meetings and watching them being appreciated and implemented. These experiences have not only equipped me with the above mentioned virtues but enabled me to appreciate my own personal limitations. The course content is well suited according to my desire, which has motivated me to apply for this once in a life time opportunity. I’m passionate to get involved in research at highest level and with an ambition to return to Pakistan as a professor and get actively involved growing scientific research.
For my hypothetical thesis I would like to work on high altitude airborne wind turbine design. These lighter than air wind turbines will be afloat above 15000ft in order to harness unremitting laminar winds. These buoyant air turbines would be energy efficient and their altitude can be used a local position system also. The complexity of design but with a promising future has stirred me to work on
