“It’s a wrap!” The words you hear once you and your team finally finish production on a new project you’ve been working on. I would like to think of life as making a movie. I certainly believe that I star in my personal film, in my head of course. Matter of fact; imagine my voiceover as you read this. It may actually give you an insight to who I am and why I want to pursue a MBA degree at SDSU.
After finishing film production, one might believe the work is done however that is far from it. In order to have a completed film, you need to go through the editing and finishing process, which is called the post-production process. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I viewed my career process similar to finishing production on a film. I believed that in order to succeed in the entertainment industry I needed to work as an assistant for different people while building my skill set and growing within the organization. I’ve gained meaningful work experience, however, obtaining a MBA degree is another way of entering this industry that I see for myself. Just like the post-production process, I need to get some work experience and obtain my masters degree in order to reach my career goals. …show more content…

That is where I come in. Upon completing my MBA program, I will use the tools I’ve learned in the marketing division of the entertainment industry. My short-term career goals include working as an Integrated Marketing Manager for a major production company, such as Walt Disney Company or NBC Universal. In this position, I will develop and execute effective marketing communication strategies that are tailored to underrepresented communities. I will be able to develop the skills I learn through the MBA program at SDSU and increase my network, which will assist me in my long-term career
