Medicine as a career is where one can have the pleasure of helping others in need while gaining new experiences each day. Being raised in a small town of India, I have witnessed many people suffering either because of improper health services or lack of financial ability to receive any aid. My goal is to gain proper medical knowledge from medical school and contribute to the society by applying my knowledge to help improve health of people. My passion to help others and the constant urge to learn more about medicine makes me believe that I am well suited to excel in the medical world.
Always curious about how the human body functions and how we can do more to improve current practices, I have constantly urged my parents to take me to their hospital since 8 years of age. Throughout my educational experience, I have learned that dedication is the key to accomplish set goals. In 2008-2009, my GPA was at its lowest due to personal tragedy; however, I worked hard and brought up my GPA and maintained it until I graduated with summa cum laude. Through my volunteering and shadowing experiences, I have learned that compassion is important for understanding and connecting with others. Volunteering at various hospitals and events taught me that understanding other person is one step closer towards helping them. Above and all, it motivated me each and every day, which is significant for longevity of my goals.
