The enormous respect and appreciation that I have for teachers exists because of the contributions they made to my life. My own experiences in the classroom have been both positive and essential. Within this setting, I acquired knowledge of the national curriculum, as well as skills and values that I continue to use today. Therefore, the application of my knowledge and skills will be of value to new generations. Through my commitment and passion to teaching, I want to be a role model who can inspire children to cherish learning and recognise that education is vital to their lives.
The transitions I made in education demonstrate a strong knowledge and passion for a range of subjects in the national curriculum. In particular, my degree in history has drawn upon skills from different subjects, such as English and IT. The course developed my knowledge of British and world history. I can critically analyse different representations of the past on historical events, people and places. This experience brought my attention to the workload and clerical duties that teachers undertake; nevertheless, I feel confident that my resilience, exceptional time management and organisational skills will manage these pressures.
