I aspire to study psychology and go into clinical psychology as I have developed a active interest in the inner most workings of the human being and this interest has continued with me throughout college life. This interest developed mostly due to the fact my father suffers from chronic depression and it's something that really affects his life and mine. Thus I would like learn more about depression and other mental disorders and how to treat them and possibly make a difference. Studying Psychology has allowed me to explore this area and more such as studying the topic of depression in our syllabus in which the biological approach fascinated me to ask for further reading on the area. as well this it has provided me with numerous personal skills such as working well in a team environment either as a member or leader in research tasks by undertaking an experiment where numerous practitioners must work together to achieve a desired outcome, i.e. …show more content…
Psychology has also helped me think more outside of the box when it comes to problem solving and pursue options that I once may have not even considered which has made me a more moral person by not just accepting things at face value. I believe I am right for the course as I have a genuine enthusiasm to psychology which none of my other subjects have been shown quite to this extent due to the raw interesting nature of psychology especially from the biological standpoint. As well as this I apply the knowledge I have learned to a wider range of issues such as using psychology to explain poverty and prejudices which to this day spark conflict universally that not only has psychology prepared me for but also my other subjects, such as sociology and history, have presented me with the idea of applying our knowledge to contemporary and traditionalistic
