Recommended: History of cinematography

Throughout my life, the three interests of educating myself about different mediums of art, using new mediums for creative storytelling, and applying my knowledge of computer science to new technologies have always conflicted for my attention and focus in various ways that contribute to my life goals and personal characteristics. Some of the mediums I have studied and developed projects for include film, animated novels, video games, and virtual reality. I am fascinated by fictional stories based on interesting people and places, and I desire to extend the scope of my education to understand a broad range of art and media technologies in order to apply my interests toward more creative storytelling on new mediums. Since this early exposure, I have studied computer science in order to create applications, games, and simulations that allow people to see the world differently. I am always actively seeking ways to assemble my interests in film, storytelling, science, mathematics, and technology to form new projects and ideas that will lead to new experiences of multi-media art. Ultimately, I believe that the Digital Arts and Media BDP is the academic bridge that I need to relate my interests in multi-media entertainment and storytelling with my college career of developing innovative computer applications, simulations, and games in order to develop groundbreaking new uses of …show more content…

The biggest aspect of the Digital Arts and Media program that stands out to me is the final creative project required by all students. My goals leading up to this project are to get to know other students in the program to build upon ideas together and to develop several smaller projects that will give me the skills necessary to develop something great at the end. Whether my final BDP project be an island adventure game that implements a strong narrative that emphasizes isolation, or a virtual reality application that allows users to engross themselves in an immersive social network I have programmed, it is certain that the Digital Arts and Media BDP will give me the extra cross disciplinary study needed to turn outside-of-the-box ideas into outside-of-the-box realities that culminate my interests from various multi-media
