Everybody has something to give to the world, and each person’s gift is unique to themselves. To benefit others within my community and my profession as a youth pastor, I will display my empathetic and kind-hearted personality and my passion for serving others. I am a motivated person, especially when it comes to creating a positive change in the world. Through this passion, the world receives compassion in a time that it is desperately needed, which I am ecstatic to continue to give. My most memorable experience was getting to serve lunch to those in Des Moines area at Hope Ministries. Along with serving out food, I was invited to eat lunch and have conversations with the community. This experience revealed to me the tremendous impact that service can have on individuals. The man I ate with had lost contact with his immediate family due to his addictions and had just begun a program at Hope Ministries to put his life back together. I could see how this organization was going to work in this man’s life, just like they had done in the past, and will continue to do. This inspired me to become the change that I was witnessing, and spurred me to become a youth pastor. I want to aid junior high and high school-aged students in their paths of service, love, and faith just like my youth pastor had done for me by bringing us to Hope Ministries. My personality is loving, empathetic, and driven, which are characteristics that are perfect for service within a ministry setting.This profession allows me to show love to my community as I lead the youth and am active in service projects. To achieve this, I plan on earning a degree in ministry in order to be as prepared for the task as much as possible and learn exactly what it means to be a youth pastor. Obtaining a scholarship from this program would help me kickstart my career so I can focus more on others and less on
