The business world is an area where innovative ideas meet technological advances to keep up with our fast paced society and this drives my passion to be a part of the business world. Being relevant to many aspects of day to day life, the business sector offers a variety of choices and careers which will allow me to follow a pathway that appeals to my interest in accountancy and finance. I found working at KPMG rewarding as it gave me insight into the life of an accountant and the day to day tasks an accountant completes. I have also taken part in a business summer school at Birmingham City University. Working in a group we won second place in the SIM Venture competition which involved running a simulation of a business managing the fundamental sectors of finance, human resources, operations and marketing sectors. Furthermore, in collaboration with the University of Warwick, I was selected to be part of the Brilliant Scholars' Club, a gifted and talented initiative. Through this, I took part in university style tutorials led by a PHD tutor from the University of Warwick and I developed my writing skills through the completion of essays focusing on topics I had discussed and debated during each tutorial. I graduated from the Brilliant Club with a 'first' in my final essay about law.
