The business world is an area where innovative ideas meet technological advances to keep up with our fast paced society and this drives my passion to be a part of the business world. Being relevant to many aspects of day to day life, the business sector offers a variety of choices and careers which will allow me to follow a pathway that appeals to my interest in accountancy and finance. Growing up in a society full of uncertainty and changes in the economy I have always had a strong desire to be a part of this field. I found working at KPMG rewarding as it gave me insight into the life of an accountant and the day to day tasks an accountant completes. I have also taken part in a business summer school at Birmingham City University. Working in a group we won second place in the SIM Venture competition which involved running a simulation of a business managing the fundamental sectors of finance, human resources, operations and marketing sectors. Furthermore, in collaboration with the University of Warwick, I was selected to be part of the Brilliant Scholars' Club, a gifted and talented initiative. Through this, I took part in university style tutorials led by a PHD tutor from the University of Warwick and I developed my writing skills through the completion of essays focusing on topics I had discussed and debated during each tutorial. I graduated from the Brilliant Club with a 'first' in my final essay about law. Studying business studies has enabled me to enhance my understanding of business environments including how businesses operate, how to respond to challenges and develop strategies for success.
