Ever since I could remember, I have always enjoyed talking and building relationships with others. When I first moved to the United States at the age of fifteen without knowing any English, I had started to realize that building relationships with others can be extremely challenging without shared communication. That is, not only limited to language barriers, but also the culture differences that shape one’s value, perceptions, and beliefs. Communication is everywhere and integrated in every way of our lives. It is a useful tool, and it has taught be to stay open-minded, solve conflicts, and always be conscious in analyzing information critically. Communication is especially important in the business industry because its involves working with rapid changing environment, such as technology, social trends, and people. Therefore, what I have and will obtain from communication studies will be vital for a business to achieve optimal outcomes. At Questrom School of Business, the program has a strong emphasis on team works, because it is not only crucial to foster our ability to work in a diverse group that would help develop creative solutions, but also to simulate real working situations that one cannot choose who they work with.
