Cyrus Hall McCormick was one of the founding fathers of farm machinery. He changed the agriculture ways with is inventions. Some of his major accomplishments included the reaper, the hillside plow, and a self-sharping plow. His company later joined other companies and then became International Harvester Company. Every dime I earn working at Reynolds Community College and every grant and scholarship I receive will go towards my passion of studying human behavior and applying everything I learn to bringing every community I can reach, a giant leap forward. After receiving my associates degree in Social a Science I decided to take a year off to work towards finding what it is that I really want to pursue. I have searched for that 'something ' that will keep me intrigued and awake all hours of the night without realizing it. I have eliminated the idea of simply working to make ends meet or finding a good job to support my family and "living" outside the 40+ hours of a weekday job. I am pursuing much more and I am confident that I have found a path leading me to wake up before my alarm clock sounds instead of praying for more time.
For the past 18 years I wanted to do something practical and respected. Belonging to the model minority emphasized that belief even more. Due to those factors, I wanted to be an otolaryngologist specializing in laryngology. I thought this way I could get somewhat close to my passion of singing while raking in the prestige and cash. So then I decided to apply to schools with strong pre-med programs, but I also kept in mind my love for music, resulting in me applying to numerous liberal arts colleges.
I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Sophomore of the Year Award for the University of New England. Through my experience as a second year student at the University of New England, I have always been determined to be a leader to and a supporter of my peers. Some qualities that show that I am worthy of the Sophomore of the Year Award includes: Leadership: While a student at UNE, I have dedicated most of my free time to the development of programs on campus such as UNE’s Crew Team, UNE’s Housing Staff as well as The USG Sophomore Class Representative. As a member of UNE’s Crew Team, I have encouraged 6 students who are only involved with one other club to join crew and stay active. Without a good amount of rowers, only a few of our 7 new boats would be filled.
I absolutely love working with high school students. I taught high school before, but counseling in a high school creates a different dynamic with the students. I love interaction, relationship with students, counseling and diversity of each day. Working with students and families through the college admissions process is quite rewarding and provides a nice balance to the problems that I handle day to day. I love the positive and proactive spirit of applying to college and the excitement it brings to the student.
Zuhei. M GLPO Spring Essay This is second semester soon to be a senior, it's nerve wrecking but exciting at the same time. Throughout my second semester I have grown in investigating the world and communicate ideas and grown my knowledge and College Career Readiness as a student. This semester has me stressed more than I have before, so stressed about AP exams and college readiness.
I want to be a physician because I want people to grow old. At the age of 6, one of my closest friends was diagnosed with leukemia. By age 8, the disease claimed his life, robbing him of the opportunity to experience the privilege of growing old. Unfortunately, we live in a society of vanity. We see the process of aging and choose not to embrace it.
There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I would love to be a part of the Early College Program this coming spring. I believe the program will do nothing but help me grow and strive to be a better student and continue being involved.
Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.
You may be wondering why an environmental engineer is interested in studying Management Information Systems. I am now seeking a more sophisticated knowledge of information systems and management techniques that impact positively on every aspect of an organization’s business’ operations.
I also had the opportunity to work with statistical tools, such as Stata and R, as part of my ‘Learning from Quantitative Data’ and ‘Statistical Data and Analysis’ modules. The subject ‘Sample Surveys and Experiments’ required me to collect and work with real data to produce a comprehensive report on my findings. These modules gave me the qualitative and quantitative skills required to critically analyse research findings, which will be useful for the Research Methods unit and the
