A liberal arts education will give me a chance to teach my students not only the subject they are learning but also about the world around them. With the way I teach my students I hope their parents begin to see teachers in a different way as well. Classroom Environment 1. Set a purpose by establishing how assessments will be interpreted and used. My classroom environment is driven by my school’s expectations for using data to drive instruction. Before students entered my classroom at the start of the school year, I reviewed the data that I received from their previous teachers and previous state assessments to set a goal for students individually and as a whole. The main goal that I set for all students is to show growth from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.
