As the head of a new strategic planning committee, I am writing to people and asking for their help in identifying the pros and cons of changing the college from a liberal arts college to a professional and technical college. Can you please call us at your earliest convenience? Thank you. Letter #3 – Current Faculty Hello, I am reaching out to the faculty from the strategic planning committee to get input from you. Rogal needs a boost in national rankings to stay viable in higher education. There are many schools competing for today’s student and we want to provide them with the proper tools to be successful. We would like your opinion. The question is whether to stay a liberal arts college, become a professional/technical school, or a hybrid of the two. Since we recognize that changes in curriculum could have a dramatic effect on all of you, we want your input. What are the benefits and disadvantages to those choices? Please give your opinion about what you think is a better type of program and why. There are different reports that state that a liberal arts education is better because it teaches critical thinkers and those that say students must learn technology to be a viable job candidate and employee. The las choice is possibly figuring how to create programs that incorporate the best of both. I have attached a short survey. Could you please fill it out and submit it before 2/15/2017? Thank you.
