Similar to other immigrants my family history is somewhat compelling. Starting with my grandfather who was exiled out of Egypt in 1959 primarily as a result of the "decolonization process and the rise of Egyptian nationalism”, my immediate family and I also left France in 2004 as a result of rising tension against Jews. The migration of my grandparents and parents, from a young age, cultivated a sense of determination in me to overcome obstacles. Arriving in Miami at age 5, I had to learned my third language, English, in order to attend school. I was determined to and successfully lost my accent and got tested into the gifted program after a year of school.
I took all the sciences I could, eventually majoring in Biochemistry in college to understand the workings of the body. I always thought I wanted to be a pathologist. I was aware of pathology assistants but was unaware of what their job entailed. In my junior year of undergrad, I was fortunate enough to find out that my college worked with a teaching hospital, Montefiore Medical Center. Through them, I was able to obtain an internship in the Surgical
The main reason why I would love to attend Cal Lutheran is because of my sophomore year homeroom teacher, a Cal Lutheran alumni. During my sophomore year, I struggled in Algebra 2, and my teacher helped me by giving me additional support. She is a wonderful person, who says that part of the person she is today is because of her college years. She talked a lot about her experiences in Cal Lutheran and how it contributed to her future, and I would picture myself in Cal Lutheran doing the things she was doing. I would like to attend Cal Lutheran because I want to become a helpful and wonderful person just like my teacher.
As I think of the University of Mississippi, the aspect that most impresses me, and is an addition to my desire to immerse myself in this prominent learning community is the University's outstanding resources. I am very attracted to the opportunity to explore and learn at the University of Mississippi's science departments. Science has been my academic passion ever since I entered middle school. Since then, I have always wanted to get into the medical field to become a neurologist. I believe the brain is a black box with endless mysteries waiting to be explored.
My childhood was not most would consider to be easy. Both my mother and father had addiction issues that forced my younger brother and I to care for ourselves. By the time I reached the fifth grade, I had attended five different elementary schools. On the days that I did actually go to school, I was not on time. A few years later, I moved in with my grandparents, and my entire life improved.
I absolutely love the science aspect of it and I just have a passion in my heart that it's telling me this is it. At the end of middle school and high school, I volunteered at 3 different departments of 3 different Elliot Hospitals. I wanted to get a feel of being in the hospital and I wanted to imagine if I could see myself in the medical field for the next 10 years.
On the surface, the University of Florida prevails as one of the top ten public universities in the United States and one of the best colleges in the world. However, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Aside from UF's impressive titles, the University offers outstanding opportunities that suit my academic goals and living situation. On the surface, the University of Florida prevails as one of the top ten public universities in the United States and one of the best colleges in the world.
My academic interest at USC is to pursue a path down the business administration field, to grow my knowledge and to understand how to apply concepts taught in class into the real world. I believe that the Marshall School of Business is one of the best places in the country where I can learn and grasp the intricate structure of business administration, particularly in entrepreneurship. My goal in life is to one day own a business starting from the foundation working up to however vastly it may grow. With one of the best entrepreneurship programs in the nation, Marshall goes far beyond the average business curriculum, which is what I’m yearning for. At USC I intended to pursue internships with companies that can provide insight of how businesses
I am applying to earn a degree in Business Management at Texas State University. With this degree from Texas State i plan to take that knowledge combined with my piror experience in the management side of Business, and begin to continue something that has molded my character. Growing up i stood by learning and watching my grandparents work effortlessly so that the rest of my family was taken care of, that is something that i want to continue for my future family. Currently my grandparents have maintained a successful restaurant, soon it will be my turn to take the reigns. I have a desire to know more about new business issues which would allow me to gain new ideas.
I have a warm heart when it comes to children, I’m the eldest of six children and I am usually the one who everyone comes to for comforting, understanding, and just to listen. When I was applying for college I immediately chose Human Development and Family Sciences with a focus on Family and Child Services; and I have not changed my mind yet. All of my classes and activities are so interesting to me and I love becoming more knowledgeable about the things that make a family a family and how they function. I am also a firm believer when it comes to, “Children are the future.” What we put into our children now is what will get from them later and I love the idea and everything that comes with it to make that happen in the best way possible.
Clinical medicine and science are inherently inseparable entities. Scientific advances and discoveries will perpetually influence any career in the medical profession. This was an idea I learned early on during my undergraduate education. However, my own interest in science spans further than using it as a means to an end. The process of developing theories and conducting experiments enthralls me.
During my senior year of high school I only applied to colleges with high ranking business schools. As I started hearing back from the colleges I was accepted too, I started to visit them. Boston College had everything I was looking for in a college. It has a respected business school, it is close to a city, it has a traditional campus, and it has a medium size student population. I was not and I am still not one-hundred percent sure what I want to do after college, but I know I would like to work in the business industry.
I am currently a graduate student working toward my master’s degree in Sports Business at NYU. I have worked multiple internships over the last three years focusing on a variety aspects related to the sports industry. However, it was not until I worked for the SMU football team that I realized I wanted to be apart of the football side of the industry in the NFL. While working for the SMU team I was able to travel to all away games and got a chance to see and understand what it takes to run a Division I program. I parlayed my time with SMU into a training camp internship with the New York Jets working in their Football Operations department.
I am passionate about science contributing to a better world, which explains my interest in medical research. My mother, as a nurse, exposed me to a broad range of diseases from an early age which definitely sparked my interest for medicine. My father, on the other hand, suffers from sarcoidosis in the lungs and a mitral valve disease; which also contributed to my interest. I am particularly intrigued by cancer research. I have known many people affected by this horrible and engrossing (for a medical scientist) disease.
I was always the guy that always wanted to think for himself, to be able to know how to get ahead in life without someone to help me until that one day my grandpa and I were discussing my future. He asked me what my plan is when I graduate; I responded by saying that I want to be able to start off by going into the Marines then go to Ohio State University. Right after I mentioned the Marines he frowned; he believes that the Marines are not a good branch to join because they do not treat you that well. He was suggesting that I maybe join the Navy. Although he thinks the Marines are not a good branch to join, I disagree, the Marines are the best branch to join because the Marines are the most elite branch to join; I’ve always wanted to be the best.
