After carefully considering my skills, interest, and values; I have decided my first choice of career plan would be to become a Kindergarten teacher. I am suitable for this job because I would like to work with children. I can help children that need help and want every child to be safe. Being a teacher comes with a lot of responsibilities and skills that I need to learn. The responsibilities that I will have are to create lesson plans, observe students, grade students' assignments, and prepare students for state assessments. The skills that I need are communication with the children and parents, patience, and always being positive. The environment that teachers work in is in a small classroom, work the school year, and observe the students in and around a school building. I have enrolled in classes at Career And Technology Education Centers of Licking County for teaching. During my time at C-TEC, I learned a lot of skills and responsibilities that I would need to become a teacher. Through job shadowing during my classes at C-TEC, I shadowed teachers for different grades to see which one I like the most. After that, I narrowed down my career preference. I also signed but for CCP classes for college. To achieve my goal I have to take 4 years of college to get a bachelor's degree in education, pass a background check, and pass a general teaching test for the career that I want to take. I would like to earn a bachelor's degree because when you have more education you can become a school counselor, instructional coordinator, or school librarian. I can start with 2 years of college. I can take 4 years of college if I want to be fully certified and enjoy higher education
