Immigration is described as the movement and relocation of an individual or sets of people from one country to another. In the United States, immigration began in the past in the sixteenth century with the Spanish colonists that migrated to North America. Immigration happens to be important to the United States. Millions of people migrate to the United States of America to be able to achieve their dream, a better lifestyle, and earn their title of an American. America has been greatly shaped by immigrants who should be giving an opportunity to be identified as Americans also. Since 2006, the U.S. has accepted more illegal immigrants as permanent residents than all other countries in the world combined (Princeton.edu 1). So what is the problem you may ask? Well the issue is that, immigrants are coming to America illegally, whether by hopping the Mexican border and sneaking past authorities, or prolonging their visa. The immigrants, who risk their life to be here, want what everyone else here wants: to be successful and live a decent life, something they could perhaps not manage to do within their current country.
