Nuclear energy, the word nuclear has had a negative connotation in the past, but as we move into the the future the word nuclear is being looked at with a whole different approach. Nuclear energy has been shown to be a cheaper, more efficient, and “cleaner” source of energy. As we move into the future, natural resources such as gas, oil, and coal will become a thing of the past. They will eventually become more scarce due to their limited amount. With limited amounts of these natural resources, we are and will be forced to look for alternative ways of creating clean and affordable power. Nuclear Energy is one of the most promising fields of creating the much needed and increasing demand of power that we use each and everyday. President Obama and his administration has put faith into nuclear energy becoming the new alternative power source to coal. The Obama administration has pushed for more nuclear reactors as an alternative power source. Although building a reactor plant is very costly and takes a tremendous amount of time, it pays off in the end. The administration has signed many design license so that nuclear energy plants can be built in towns all across the country (Nick Cunningham). As we advance into the future, we are beginning to see the effects of green-house gases have on our environment (The Future of Nuclear Technology) Greenhouse gases such as CO2 have very damaging effects to our atmosphere, oceans, forests, and soil. CO2 is not destroyed over time, but is pushed throughout our eco system (United States Environmental Protection Agency). In the future, nuclear energy plants will be the only source of power due to their eco friendliness, and coal power plants will be extinct in
