I can see them in the office. Kids who have been fighting and now they 're getting suspended. These kids will have bad grades because all the days they missed in school. Many of these kids will turn around and get in more fights and eventually fail school. I read an article called “In L.A., policy shift yield decline in school suspensions” by Christine Armario.
This can be done instead with classroom management and student engagement strategies. For example, if a student is skipping class, then the student receives a phone call the same day. Then a staff member will get in contact with the student, and determine why the student was absent and then issue a detention for his or her unexcused class absence. He also mentions how the school has changed the way teachers grade homework. The teachers no longer grade homework based on completion but now on accuracy, and the following day the teachers give quizzes based on the assigned homework from the previous night to guarantee that the students fully understand the concept before taking the summative
Schools having random locker searches is unreasonably and unfair to the students! Schools shouldn’t do locker searches because they could be implying that students are untrustworthy, but not only are they indicating that, locker searches may make the students have lack of trust. If you search their locker randomly and they have personal matters such as photos or letters that they hide in there and you look at it, they would feel less comfortable and not trust you. It would make the student be distant and won't have a bond with their teacher, administrator and/or peers. Students’ lack of trust can also create other issues.

Should kids be suspended. Recently people have been questioning the effect of suspension for kids behavior. Some say there are new efficient ways of cleaning up the act of children. Even though suspension can be a big deal to some, suspensions do not work and schools should use the system Restorative Justice because suspension is temporary, the new system is non judgemental and massive reductions on suspension and dropout rates have gone down.
There have been 18 school shootings across the nation since January 1, 2018, which includes shootings where guns were fired accidentally and no one was injured, according to www.bing.com. This is a major problem because many students, staff, and families are being affected. It is a trend that mental illness is the root cause of the shooter’s actions. This is a small part of the reason; however, I believe there are many other reasons: grandparents are raising children, guns are too accessible, violent video games, social media, news media, and the internet. Mental illness is a true problem with citizens who are not seeking help to treat their mental illness.
Where one may see it as an absense, a just a day they missed a worksheet that can be picked up and finished the following day. is a direct waste of money for all those who have to pay for the education – and such people are the majority. also a complete sign of utter disrespect to those who do not have to luxury to encounter this free education that sets them up for life Students who skip classes are more likely to get lower grades and face a biased attitude from their teachers leading to a miserable year because teachers have the power to do so; moreover, they have lower chances to successfully graduate, and enroll in a college – of any type. Such students are also more likely to live on a welfare, and get engaged in antisocial behavior. Therefore, this problem should be treated and enforced with discipline consequences with all possible attention from teachers, parents, and
Should Schools Keep Summer Break? I believe that schools should keep summer break for their kids. There are many ways, having a summer break contributes to schools and the community. It is an American tradition to get out of school for the hot summer months.
Suspended students are more likely to do it again or become repeat offenders. Suspension sometimes fails to change the views of a student and they become repeat offenders, especially if it’s something that is a part of them or they can’t help it. The more suspensions that a student racks up, the more it gets on their record, the more their grade depletes and the less likely they will be eligible to be accepted into a college of their choice. Minor offenses are minor, which means ‘lesser in importance, significance, or seriousness’. Being suspended for cursing or sleeping in class will most likely encourage the thus the problem will continue to occur and the problem will never be resolved.
How many innocent children have to be brutally murdered before it is enough? This has been an uprising topic in today’s society since school shootings are so prevalent. From Kentucky, to Oregon, to Colorado, to Florida, the safety of our nation 's schools have been shattered by gunfire. The ones who have committed such horrible crimes have done these actions for many different reasons, at different times, and at different schools. Yet, they do have at least one thing in common.
School Suspensions Are a Waste of Time Would you take school suspensions away if it would benedict the school? Many school have always used school suspensions as their way of chastisement, simply because it is the easiest way. School suspensions became popular around the 1960s and 70s because many more fights were occurring due to desegregation. Although school suspensions are widely used throughout most schools, it is time we found a more effective way of discipline. School suspensions are not working because students may not understand what they did wrong, suspensions feel more like time off than a punishment, and students are more likely to act out again after being suspended.
When one hears "school security" these days, the word that goes with it is "tighten." Indeed, given both external threats and unruly (sometimes violent) student behavior, it makes sense to think that the most sensible course of action is to err on the side of more stringent measures, harsher sanctions and less permissive administration. It largely comes down to liability - whenever an individual with a history of troubled or criminal behavior snaps or becomes involved in an incident severe enough to attract government or media attention, many of the questions asked in the aftermath are variations on "why was this person not in jail. " The same applies to schools, where administrators often end up having to justify themselves to parents and

Bullying Can Be Prevented Bullying is a form of violence to pick on victims because they are different from their bullies, have insecurity/jealousy or home problems. The hate towards their victim has something to do with the victim having an unusual gift or being intelligent the bullies has yet to become. It is important that this behavior should be prevented or it will become worse. Bullying is one of the main issues public and private schools have to face on a day-to-day basis. When the bully takes it too far, the victim snaps and retaliates by fighting him/her back physically or verbally.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
