Ever have a bad day at school, then you go into math and you remembered that you have a test, a test you did not study for. It would have much better if you had something to work for I mean grades are good, but there is no fun in trying to get them. That is why I think people should get bonuses for doing amazing on tests. Even I would try to study more and focus more on test if their benefits to doing well. In doing this it will encourage students to study more and be prepared to take the tests and then getting better test scores. This will encourage students to do better. “Establishment of APIP(Advanced Placement Incentive Program) results in a 30 percent increase in the number of students scoring above 1100 on the SAT or above 24 on the ACT, and an 8 percent increase in the number of students at a high school who enroll in a college or university in Texas” (Jackson 4) This shows how the students reacted to the incentives they got for good grades. This test was done across 150 different school districts in 20 states this and there was a 30% increase in test scores, so this is a lot of students trying harder to get the rewards for doing good. However some may argue that this will encourage cheating of students to boost their test grades so they can get the rewards. But, at the same time, there will be more severe punishments for cheating and more monitoring to prevent this. And the teachers will even support this because the teachers will also get bonuses for the students doing good on their tests. Not only will this program encourage students to do better it will also encourage the teachers to help make sure the students have the concepts.
