Persuasive Writing Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere. It occurs when carbon dioxide and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface. Carbon dioxide is most commonly found in fossil fuels, livestock farming and many others. As more factories and cars are being produced the more global warming is happening. There are many effects of global warming such as melting glaciers which will rising sea levels which then will increase flooding. It is the indisputable truth that humans are the major cause of global warming. As humans have increased producing greenhouse gases over the century …show more content…
As the world warms, many plant and animal species will need to shift habitats at a rapid rate to maintain their current conditions. Some species will be able to keep up, others likely won't. The National Research Council has estimated that a mass extinction could conceivably occur before the year 2100. As many of these events have started to already happen we should try to stop global warming to continue. Most of the global warming is happening from transportation, Industries, electricity and many more. There are ways to reduce and eventually stop global warming such as use more energy efficient products change light bulbs to LEDs. Unplug computers, TVs and other electronics when not in use by reducing the amount of energy you need to heat and cool your home. Turn down the heat while you're sleeping at night or away during the day, and keep temperatures moderate at all times. It can save about 907kg of carbon dioxide each year. Choose renewable power such as solar power, or wind power this will reduce carbon dioxide as we won’t have to burn fossil fuels for power. Drive less and use more fuel-efficient cars or walk to places. Reduce air travel, stop deforestation. Plant more trees as absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. Buy products with minimal packaging. Recycle paper, plastic
