I want to congratulate you for trying your hardest and getting this far! Know that there are many people that are proud of you but most importantly be proud of yourself. This year is going to be challenging. The pressures of having to apply for college and scholarships may be a bit overwhelming, but you will have the resources you need in order to overcome them. You won’t realize how fast time will go by until your a week from graduation and it hits you that this will be your last year with your closest friends. Some advice would be to finish your ApplyTexas and FAFSA/TAFSA as quickly as possible. Of course applying to college is important at Victory. Don’t let your ACT or SAT scores discourage you from applying to the university that you want to go to. Schools don’t only look at your scores. They take everything into consideration such as your essays, your community service, your grades, etc. With that in mind, involve yourself more in school and/or in your own community. Not only does it help those around you, but it will also mold you into a better individual. Even if you don’t believe college is for you, try it out. Apply! Apply! Apply! Scholarships are essential. Free money! Who doesn’t want that? Apply for the scholarships that people rarely apply to. Apply to the ones that everyone wants to apply to. Apply to the ones from the university website. There are so many out there! If you truly want to not pay for college then you would apply for as many as you can and more. College Seminar 4 will definitely help you apply for scholarships. They are your major grades in this class which is some motivation if you want to keep an A. If you need support or guidance, Mr. Rogers and Ms. Ford will not hesitate to help! Ask people to look over your academic resume, college essays, and scholarships. Mistakes can be easily
