There are more than a hundred different articles that you can find that say our society today is not sustainable and it will continue that way if we don’t change. The world has a problem of power that we need to fix. Every single person on this Earth has wanted power over something that may be big or even something small at one point. One way we try to compromise this problem is by voting. In the United States and many other countries, they have a system of voting to where you can either try to run for that position that is being voted on or you can vote for the person you think is best for it. on the other hand, there are have been some situations where voting wasn’t an option. One example is Joseph Stalin’s power over the Soviet Union. When Joseph was in power anything that wasn’t in his likes was either destroyed or had major consequences. He also changed many things that were in his favor. Napoleon’s power that he gains in the book symbolizes on how Joseph Stalin rose to power over the Soviet Union and shows how Orwell stress that too much power can lead to failure or jealousy because Napoleon at the end of the book decides to be just like the human beings because he noticed they were better. “it was a pig walking on his hind legs (Orwell 132).” One-night Clover saw Napoleon walking around on his hind legs and showing signs that he wanted to be like the humans. This is at a point in the book where Napoleon had pretty much turned into a human because of their actions that he was jealous about. At the end of the book Napoleon told the animals on the farm that the name Animal Farm would be abolished and would be changed back to Manor Farm (Orwell 140). The original name, Manor Farm, was the name made by humans and it clearly shows that Napoleon was fonder of it then Animal
