My Acupuncture Experience

I am most convinced to adopt acupuncture the next time I am not feeling well or injured. Personally, I have tried other CAM methods like foot reflexology, aromatherapy, traditional chinese medicine (TCM), chiropractic and I do not really think they helped in my injury or relieved my illness. // For foot reflexology, the pressure points on my foot were abit painful when pressed and exerted force, it felt abit better after the session when I started to walk. However, it did not help in muscle soreness of my legs or certain parts of my foot, which were aching. I had mistakenly experienced it when I went for a tui na session. I did not understand what the practitioner was saying and just nodded my head. Little did I know, he just suddenly cracked my neck and I was totally caught off guard. I felt relaxed after that as the stiffness in my neck had decreased but it was a horrifying experience to have my neck cracked at such a full force and angle. I was really afraid that my neck would dislocate and I would be paralyzed or even die. Therefore, I am really afraid of chiropractic practices. // I am convinced that acupuncture might be a better complementary and alternative medicine as it has been discovered more than 2500 years ago in China whereby people used it widely as there was a shortage of doctors in China n the 1950s and 1960s. Acupuncture is linked to the belief that disease is caused by disruptions to the flow of energy, or qi, in the body. Acupuncture stimulates points on or under the skin called acupuncture points or acupressure points, releasing this qi. The qi then travels through channels called meridians, according to the Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota.
