Amphetamines are schedule II drugs, meaning that they have the potential to be highly addictive. In modern day society, the worlds of various people revolve around progress and being successful.
An easy solution to being the best they can be is using amphetamines. These drugs can be dangerous because an acute addiction can develop from stimulants such as amphetamines. Although amphetamines can be used properly to treat ADHD, these drugs are being abused by college students because they are too easily accessed by the public and need to be regulated because of their dangerous side effects.
While amphetamines can be harmful when used incorrectly, these drugs should not be completely eliminated because they are beneficial to people with ADHD. There are many different sources that a student could obtain amphetamines from. Prescription amphetamines such as Adderall and Ritalin are said to be the most easily accessible drugs to college students. They gain access to these drugs from family medicine cabinets or even dealers. (“Why Do College Students Abuse Amphetamines”). Amphetamines are becoming too easily accessible to the public which is leading to the popularizing of amphetamine abuse.
