Animal Rights Animals have been around for many millenniums. Roaming the earth longer than the supposed start of the paleolithic era, the time of the cave men and woolly mammoths. Some even believe that humans have been formed from gorillas and chimpanzees. Since animals have been around for many ages why do we feel we have the right to captivate, enclose, and harm animals. Is it because they are not able to express their feelings to you in a human way or because they can not talk to you? A controversial theory that has been around for awhile now is whether an animal is able to have rights. Nowadays animals have been poorly mistreated by the human race. Animal cruelty is considered an intentional infliction by humans of suffering or harm upon any non-human animal. The punishment for animal cruelty is many years in jail or up thousands of dollars in fine. In some states there is not a punishment at all for animal cruelty. However if you abuse a child there is more consequences of that to the consequences of your pet. Is there any right of them being different punishments for the same crime, just inflicted on different beings? Animals have limited rights in the world that they once walked upon alone. Endangered species are some animals that get special treatment. They are considered endangered species because they are supposed to be left alone from hunters and others so the species is able to stay alive. Some may argue that if a species becomes over populated that they should be hunted so the population is able to stay at a normal rate.
