For the past few years this country has grown. We have advanced in the way we treat humans and how we view and handle the difficult choices concerning human rights and human welfare. But we don’t extend the same treatment to our other friends, the animals. As a candidate, I believe in the human treatment of animals. I am tired of seeing animals who are hurt or abused. I believe that humans should not cruelly treat animals. As a country we believe in the human treatment of humans, and no cruel or unusual punishment for humans too, but yet we don't extend these same right to the animals. According to the ASPCA pet statistics 6.5 million companion animals enter the U.S. shelters every year, 1.5 million sheltered animals are euthanized. According to the Humane Society, Animal abuse is still prevalent it is estimated that 70.1% of cases involve dog abuse, 20.9% of cases involve cats, and 24.1% involve any other animals. Their are more way I want to end abuses and mistreatment but if I listed every single one of them I would never stop talking. I want our justice branch to put more emphasis on tracking animal abuse or mistreatment. It is proven that animal abuse does correlate with other types of criminal acts like assault on spouses and on children. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency has prosecuted multiple cases where drug cartels were running narcotics through cockfighting and dogfighting operations, dozens of homicides have occurred at cockfights and dogfights, and a California man was killed in a disagreement about a $10 cockfight bet. The way of stopping this abuse and mistreatment is going to be hard. I am going to need your help. The people's help to stop this abuse. I can't do this on my own, my party can't do this on our own, the executive branch, judicial branch, congressional branch, states, counties can’t do it on their own. I need you to speak up if you see abuse say something, report it, don’t let that animal go
