Animal testing is the testing or experimentation of products, chemicals, and more on animals. Sometimes animals are used to test beauty products on, as well as new medicines and scientific researches. The animals most commonly used are mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and even cats. However, these are not the only animals used in these acts of cruelty, others such as fish, farm animals, dogs, birds, and in some cases monkeys or chimpanzees.
Animal testing is cruel and immoral, not to mention inhumane. The animals that are subjected to testing do not have a voice in whether or not they can be tested on, and therefore cannot make their own decision. Most animals that are used in testing have never even seen the outside world because

They can feel physical pain like humans when subjected to these methods of testing, as well as display human like emotions such as depression, anxiety, fear and more. The animals that are exposed to toxins and chemicals can also become deformed along with their offspring.
Supporters of animal testing might say that animal testing is needed for scientific research and medical purposes. They would say that it’s better to have done the testing on animals rather than humans. Since starting animal testing medical and scientific research has come a long way. There have been many breakthroughs and discoveries. Another reason, supporters would say, is that “We share 95% of our genes with a mouse, making them an effective model for the human body,” says the Understanding Animal Research webpage in their list of 40 Reasons why we Need Animals in

This means that there’s only a 10% chance that the medicines tested on animals are going to work on humans. As for needing animals to avoid using humans in tests, there are more advanced technologies today that could be used to run most of the tests. For example, there is a form of testing called in silico or in vitro which is the use of computers in a way that they can virtually run the same tests that they can run on the animals. When using the in vitro method the scientists use human cells and tissues with computer-modeling techniques to achieve an even better effect than they would with an animal. Along with these in vitro testing skills, there are also human volunteers that can be
