Apollo Robins is an artist, security consultant, deception specialist and a self-described gentleman thief. Born in 1974 Plainview, Texas he first rose to fame in 2001 by pick-pocketing the Secret Service of former President Jimmy Carter. Apollo Robins is considered to be the best at what he does able to pick pocket Jennifer Garner’s engagement ring, or Charles Barkley’s money straight from his pocket. Robins uses pick-pocketing and sleight of hand to demonstrate how easily people’s minds can be deceived. I believe Apollo Robinson has proven himself to be an exceptional deception artist and speaker, able to distract peoples’ attention and deceive them while giving one of the best speeches of Ted Talks. From the old boring speech that the audience heard all day long, he visualized his speech able to immerse the audience into the speech. Robin also created a ‘Wow’ moment for the audience, as they were amazed by his talent able to change his shirt in front of them without the audience noticing. During the end of the speech you could actually hear the audience gasp in amazement when Robin asked “What am I wearing”. Apollo Robin’s speech is one of a kind, he managed to attract the full attention of the audience and immerse them in his performance. Robin’s speech was unique, because instead of talking he managed to visualize his speech giving real examples in front of the audience. Playing cat and mouse with the audience member, making his performance look as easy as slicing butter.
