Breastfeeding in public is one of the most talked about issues in society today. Many people feel that it’s indecent exposure, when really it’s the most natural thing in the world. Women should have the right to breastfeed in public places without feeling intimidated or embarrassed for doing so. In all reality, this is what breasts were made for. It’s kind of ridiculous that many public places in today’s society that are all for acceptance of the LGBT community and equality for all still discriminate against women breastfeeding in public. In some cases women are even asked to leave because they are nursing their baby. How can a mother fulfill her maternal duties happily if when it comes time to perform one of the most important tasks, she gets judged or has to go to a designated area to do so? This should be a very simple task, but because some can’t see breasts in the way they were intended to be they choose to cause a scene. Some say there is one alternate option, and that’s for a specific area solely intended for nursing mothers to go to and “peacefully” nurse their baby, but why is this a pressing matter? …show more content…
Why though, should we have to spend taxpayer dollars and create such facilities when in reality this shouldn’t even be such a big deal? Also, why should the mother feel isolated from everyday life?
