Why We Should Invest In Buying a Cat Did you know that 42.9 million people in the world own a cat? Out of the six-hundred million cats and over three-hundred different breeds of cats, every cat breed can be traced back to five original female cats that were found in the near east. I have done my research and can prove my points, facts, and statistics. Cats can teach me responsibility, they are low maintenance, and cats are independent. Cats can teach me responsibility. “Family pets teach children a wide range of responsibilities, including lessons in compassion and respecting life” (GlobalPost). A cat could teach me responsibility by making me take care of him or her whole life, and establishing a relationship with them. “Cats give the impression that they do not need us. They have a quiet composure and dignity” (MyCats). Cats can be on their own for a long time, and since they can, it is easier to take care of the cat. You not needing to tend for your cat round the clock are good for kids because they get bored very easily and their attention span isn’t that long. “As any cat fancier will tell you cats do not have owners, they have care takers whom they allow to live with them” (MyCats). Cats are almost like siblings, you have to watch them and care for them, but your whole life isn’t circulating around them all day and night. In summary cats are very independent.
